Youth Mind Labs Programme
The University of Cambridge Department of Psychiatry is setting up a new one-year Youth Minds Lab programme aimed to support the mental health and wellbeing of young people through participation in mental health research. You will have an opportunity to shape youth mental health care and support.
You’ll be signing up for a 10-month programme, with one meeting per month (around 2 hours each).
There is no pressure to attend every session or do everything — how much you take part is totally up to you!
Here’s what you can get involved in:
- Participate: Take part in research by completing questionnaires or taking part in focus groups
- Get involved: Join a Young People Advisory Group to share your thoughts about different research projects.
- Work with researchers: Team up with us as a co-researcher! Help design the research, collect data, and find out what it all means.
What's in it for you?
- Certificate of Participation – with the option to include details of your contribution
- £30/hour – payment for your time, including prep
- All costs covered – travel, mobile data, or anything else you need to take part
- Mental health workshops delivered by academics and clinicians, on topics chosen by you
- CV, Cover Letter & Interview Skills Workshops – led by University of Cambridge staff to help you prepare for jobs or university
- Extra Workshops – based on what you want to learn more about, chosen by young people in the programme
