Take Part in the Attend Well Study
The Attend Well study is working with young people, parents/carers, and schools to co-produce a programme that helps schools understand and address challenges to regular school attendance.
Young People
School should be a place where everyone feels safe, supported, and like they belong. This study is working with young people to create a program that helps schools understand why some students find it hard to be in school—and what could help them.
We are looking for young people to help us make schools safer, more supportive, and better for everyone!
Who are we looking for?
- Young people aged 11–18 who have ever found it hard to go to school
What will I be asked to do?
- Fill in two 30-45 minutes online questionnaires (now and in 12 months)
- Join a 1-hour interview
Parents & Carers

We are looking for parents/carers to help us make schools safer, more supportive, and better for everyone!
Who are we looking for?
- Parents/carers of young people aged 11–18
- Your child has found it hard to go to school because of anxiety, stress or neurodivergence
What will I be asked to do?
- Fill in two 30-45 minutes online questionnaires (now and in 12 months)
- Join a 1-hour interview
School Staff
School should be a place where all young people feel safe, supported, and that they belong — somewhere they want to be.
This study aims to work with young people and schools to co-produce a programme that helps schools understand and address challenges to regular school attendance.
Who are we looking for?
- Secondary school staff who would like to share their thoughts about school attendance
What will I be asked to do?
- Join a 45-minute interview with a researcher. This can be online or in person, depending on which you prefer.
